Sikaflex®-554 is the ideal construction adhesive for professional use in vehicle construction, interior design, and load securing. The white Sikaflex adhesive is particularly popular for bonding airline rails in motorhomes, vans, and trucks with fixed side walls, as the color blends harmoniously with the white vehicle trim.
Thanks to its high strength and flexibility, Sikaflex®-554 is also suitable for large-area bonding where components are exposed to dynamic movements – for example, in commercial vehicles, vans, trailers, or motorhomes.

Sikaflex®-554 is a one-component structural adhesive that can be applied directly from the cartridge without mixing. It adheres excellently to many materials, including:
- Aluminum (also anodized and powder-coated – primer recommended!)
- Sheet steel and painted surfaces
- Plastics and ceramic materials
- Metal primers and many other substrates
According to the manufacturer, a primer is not necessary in many cases – however, we recommend using one on demanding materials such as anodized aluminum for optimal adhesion.
Perfect preparation for maximum adhesive strength
Proper preparation of the bonding surfaces is crucial for a durable bond:

Clean surfaces – free of dust, grease, and oil using silicone remover, acetone, or suitable cleaners.

Roughen – with abrasive fleece for better mechanical adhesion.

Apply primer – especially on anodized or difficult surfaces.

Apply adhesive – in the form of a triangular bead, twice as high as the desired adhesive gap.

Join parts – before the adhesive forms a skin.
