Tools and materials today, transport boxes, parcels or other equipment tomorrow: a Toyota ProAce from 2016 can handle a wide range of transport tasks in everyday commercial use. As the cargo changes, the way the vehicle is loaded and unloaded often changes as well – but the rear bumper area remains the same.
The vehicle-specific aluminium rear bumper protector for the Toyota ProAce covers this frequently used section of the bumper. It can provide additional protection for a surface that is still in good condition while also concealing existing scratches or damage within the area covered by the protector.
The bumper protector is available in six different surface finishes. All versions are made from 1.5 mm aluminium, feature a folded edge and are attached using the special adhesive tape applied to the rear.
Which bumper protector fits the Toyota ProAce?
In short: This aluminium rear bumper protector is designed for the Toyota ProAce from 2016. All six versions are made from 1.5 mm aluminium and feature a folded edge. Installation is carried out using special adhesive tape on the rear of the protector, so no drilling or screws are required.
Changing cargo – the same loading edge
Not every ProAce carries the same load every day. Particularly in trades, service work and other commercial applications, the type, size and arrangement of the cargo can change regularly.
This also changes the movements around the rear of the vehicle. A small box may be lifted straight out, a larger container may first be pulled towards the loading edge, tools may need to be repositioned and other materials may briefly be set down while the vehicle is being loaded.
What remains the same throughout these different routines is the transition between the cargo area and the outside of the vehicle. The rear bumper sits directly alongside this frequently used area. The aluminium bumper protector provides an additional cover for this section during everyday vehicle use.
Different loads, different movements
Typical movements during loading and unloading
| Type of cargo |
Movement at the rear |
| Tool cases |
Often lifted directly from the cargo area and may pass close to the loading edge when being removed. |
| Material boxes |
May first be moved towards the rear of the vehicle before being lifted out. |
| Parcels & containers |
May be gripped, turned or briefly repositioned in different ways during loading and unloading. |
| Changing cargo |
Different shapes and sizes result in different movements around the rear of the vehicle. |
Protection from the start or a practical retrofit
A bumper protector can be useful whether or not the rear bumper already shows signs of use. On a well-maintained ProAce, the aluminium cover can be fitted early to provide additional protection for the covered area during future loading and unloading.
If the vehicle has already been in service for some time, scratches or damage may already be present. If these are located within the area covered by the protector, they can be concealed underneath the aluminium surface.
This makes the bumper protector suitable both for a well-kept Toyota ProAce and for a working vehicle whose rear bumper already shows evidence of previous transport duties.
Six finishes in 1.5 mm aluminium
Regardless of the surface finish you choose, one specification remains the same: every version of the bumper protector is made from 1.5 mm aluminium. Six different surface designs are available.

Which finish suits the ProAce?
The six versions mainly differ in their appearance. For a classic technical commercial-vehicle look, you can choose between aluminium chequer plate, silver anodised chequer plate and black anodised chequer plate.
For a more understated appearance, there is brushed aluminium with a stainless-steel look. Despite the name, this version is also made entirely from aluminium. “Stainless-steel look” refers only to the appearance of the visible surface.
Matt silver anodised and black anodised aluminium versions with machined grooves provide two further alternatives.
Folded edge for additional protection
The bumper protector is supplied with a folded edge for additional protection around the loading edge.
With changing transport tasks, items can approach the rear of the vehicle from different angles and follow different movements during loading and unloading. The folded edge adds further coverage around this frequently used area.
Self-adhesive installation without drilling
A high-quality self-adhesive special tape is applied to the rear of the aluminium bumper protector. This is used to attach the protector to the intended area of the rear bumper.
No drilling or screws are required.
Important before installation:
Please read the installation instructions under “Technical Details” completely before fitting the protector and follow the specified requirements.

Practical tip: Do not focus only on the heaviest load
The heaviest item is not automatically the one that has the most contact with the loading edge. A lighter container that is loaded and unloaded several times every day may pass across the rear area much more frequently than a large item that is transported only occasionally.
With the Toyota ProAce, it is therefore useful to consider the complete working routine: What do you transport, how often is the vehicle loaded and unloaded, and how do those items move around the loading edge? With changing transport tasks, the combination of many different loading operations can be particularly relevant.

Ready for changing transport tasks
The Toyota ProAce from 2016 can carry very different loads from one job to the next. What is a tool case today may be a material box, parcel or transport container tomorrow. The rear loading area remains the common point for almost every loading operation.
The 1.5 mm aluminium rear bumper protector covers this frequently used bumper area and can conceal existing signs of use within the surface it covers. Six different finishes also allow you to choose the appearance that suits your vehicle.
The special adhesive tape on the rear allows installation without drilling or screws.
