Conventional cargo bars with rack & tensioning lever
Our conventional aluminium cargo bars use a 42 mm diameter tube. The telescopic length is adjusted to the load area and the bar is then tensioned between the intended contact surfaces using a rack-and-lever mechanism.
This robust and straightforward design is available in a particularly wide selection of working ranges, covering applications from smaller vans to large truck box bodies.
SAM 55 Professional with webbing strap & telescopic brake
The SAM 55 Professional Cargo Bar uses a different system with an internal webbing strap and telescopic brake.
Its aluminium tube has a diameter of 55 mm. The tensioning principle allows the bar to be tensioned in a controlled manner and can therefore be particularly useful in vans, refrigerated vehicles or vehicles with more sensitive load area walls.

How to measure for a cargo bar – choosing the correct working range
Do not select a cargo bar purely by vehicle model or an estimated internal width. Even two identical vans can have different usable dimensions because of side wall linings, insulation or individual load area conversions.
1. Decide where the cargo bar will be positioned in the vehicle.
2. Measure the actual distance between the two intended contact surfaces.
3. Choose a cargo bar whose adjustable working range includes this measurement.
4. Then compare the application and tensioning system to choose between a conventional cargo bar and the SAM 55.
Example: If the measured distance is 1.82 m, then 1.82 m must fall within the specified working range of the selected cargo bar. Looking only at the maximum extended length is not enough.
When is a shoring bar the better choice?
A conventional cargo bar is tensioned between suitable surfaces inside the load area and does not require permanently installed cargo rails. This makes it particularly flexible.
A shoring bar, on the other hand, is fitted into compatible cargo rails or dedicated mounting points. If the vehicle already has a suitable rail system and a defined mechanical connection to that system is required, a shoring bar may be the more appropriate solution.
