The Toyota ProAce II from September 2016 onwards is available in several vehicle lengths, making it suitable for a wide range of applications – from a comparatively compact work van to the long L3/XL version with considerably more usable vehicle length.
Regardless of the selected version, the two wheel arches remain exposed areas inside the cargo compartment. This set of two wheel arch covers made from 3 mm HDPE/ABS plastic provides additional protection for the left and right wheel arches and can be installed as part of a new interior conversion or added to existing lining.

Tailgate or rear barn doors – both versions included
The vehicle assignment includes both tailgate and rear barn door versions for all three listed vehicle lengths.
The rear door configuration therefore does not need to be the main criterion when selecting the wheel arch covers. More important is confirming that the vehicle is a Toyota ProAce II from September 2016 onwards and identifying the correct vehicle length.
Wheel arch protection from the compact to the long ProAce
Depending on vehicle length, the Toyota ProAce II can be used for very different transport requirements. While the shorter version remains particularly manageable, the long L3/XL provides additional space for materials, transport containers or vehicle equipment.
The wheel arches remain fixed areas that project into the usable cargo compartment regardless of vehicle length.
During regular loading and unloading, toolboxes, parcels, machines or other items can be moved past the wheel arches or placed directly beside them. The plastic covers provide an additional protective layer between the cargo and the vehicle area.
Where is additional wheel arch protection useful?
The wheel arch covers are particularly useful for ProAce vehicles whose cargo areas are regularly used or individually converted, for example in:
-
Trade and installation work
-
Service and maintenance
-
Courier and delivery operations
-
Fleet vehicles
-
Vehicles with shelving or workshop equipment
The wheel arch covers do not replace proper load securing. Their purpose is to provide additional covering and protection for the two wheel arch areas.
3 mm HDPE/ABS plastic for the left and right wheel arches
According to the product specification, the wheel arch covers are made from 3 mm HDPE/ABS plastic. The material is flexible and UV-resistant.
The set includes two shaped plastic covers – one for the left and one for the right wheel arch.
This allows both sides of the vehicle to be protected at the same time. The covers can be integrated into a new cargo area conversion or added to existing interior lining.

Add the wheel arch covers during a new conversion or retrofit them later
The plastic covers can either form part of a new cargo area conversion or be installed later as a targeted retrofit.
If a cargo floor or side wall lining is already fitted, the wheel arches may still remain exposed. In this case, the covers can be added afterwards, provided that the wheel arch areas remain sufficiently accessible for installation.
For a newly planned conversion, it is useful to coordinate the wheel arch protection, cargo floor, side wall lining and larger vehicle equipment as early as possible.
Installation by clamping, screwing or bonding
Depending on the existing installation situation, the wheel arch covers can be fitted by clamping, screwing or bonding.
The most suitable fixing method depends on the existing interior conversion and the individual installation situation.
Installation note:
The required installation hardware is not included. Fixings or adhesive must be selected to suit the chosen installation method and the individual vehicle setup.
Practical tip: compare overall length for L2 and L3/XL
When distinguishing between L2 and L3/XL, the wheelbase alone is not sufficient according to the listed vehicle data because both versions share the same value of 3,275 mm.
The overall vehicle length provides the clearer reference: L2 measures 4,956 mm, while L3/XL measures 5,306 mm.
So if the wheelbase tells you “either one”, the tape measure gets the deciding vote. 😄
