Toolboxes are usually easy to lift. Longer, wider or awkward items are a different story: they may need to be turned, pulled towards the rear, repositioned or moved out of the cargo area step by step. On a Peugeot Boxer from 2006, the rear bumper is positioned directly alongside the area that these items pass during loading and unloading.
The vehicle-specific aluminium rear bumper protector for the Peugeot Boxer covers this section of the bumper. It can provide additional protection for a surface that is still in good condition and can also conceal existing scratches or damage within the area covered by the protector.
Six different surface finishes are available. All versions are made from 1.5 mm aluminium, feature a folded edge and are attached using the special adhesive tape applied to the rear.
Which bumper protector fits the Peugeot Boxer?
In short: This aluminium rear bumper protector is designed for the Peugeot Boxer from 2006. All six versions are made from 1.5 mm aluminium and feature a folded edge. Installation is carried out using special adhesive tape on the rear of the protector, so no drilling or screws are required.
When cargo cannot simply be lifted straight out
Not every item can be removed from a van in one simple movement. Bulky or awkward cargo often requires several steps during unloading: it may first need to be moved towards the rear, then turned or lifted and perhaps repositioned again before it can be taken out completely.
Material boxes, tools, equipment or longer work materials can therefore pass through the rear loading area in very different ways. The more awkward an item is to handle, the more difficult it can be to control its movement precisely while lifting it out of the vehicle.
The aluminium bumper protector provides an additional cover for this frequently used section of the rear bumper.
Typical movements during loading and unloading
When cargo is moved through the rear loading area
| Loading situation |
Typical movement |
| Larger material boxes |
Often moved towards the rear of the vehicle before being lifted out. |
| Longer items |
May need to be guided, turned or repositioned while being removed from the cargo area. |
| Awkward tools or equipment |
Can move closer to the bumper area while being lifted or when changing grip. |
| Large transport containers |
Depending on their size and weight, they may need to be moved out of the cargo area in several stages. |
The final few centimetres can be the most difficult
While a larger item remains completely inside the cargo area, it can usually be moved in a relatively controlled way. The more difficult part often begins when the item is actually being removed: one section is already outside the vehicle while the rest is still inside.
At this point, the grip position, angle and direction of movement can change. The item may need to be lifted, lowered or turned sideways – with the rear bumper positioned directly below this working area.
A bumper protector does not replace careful handling when loading and unloading. It does, however, cover the relevant bumper area with a 1.5 mm aluminium layer.
Existing signs of use do not have to remain visible
The bumper protector is not only suitable for a Peugeot Boxer with a rear bumper that is still in good condition. A vehicle that has already spent years carrying tools, materials and equipment may already show scratches or other visible signs of use.
If these marks are located within the area covered by the bumper protector, they can be concealed underneath the aluminium surface. This also makes the protector a practical retrofit for vehicles that have already been in service for some time.

Chequer plate, stainless-steel look or machined grooves?
As the base material and thickness are the same for all six versions, the choice can primarily be based on the appearance you prefer.
The classic aluminium chequer plate provides a technical commercial-vehicle look and is also available in silver anodised and black anodised versions.
For a more understated appearance, there is brushed aluminium with a stainless-steel look. This version is also made entirely from aluminium – “stainless-steel look” refers only to the appearance of the surface.
The range is completed by matt silver anodised and black anodised aluminium versions with machined grooves.
Folded edge for additional protection
The bumper protector is supplied with a folded edge for additional protection around the loading edge.
This complements the aluminium cover in an area where cargo may pass while being removed, lifted or repositioned at the rear of the vehicle.
Installation with self-adhesive special tape
A high-quality self-adhesive special tape is applied to the rear of the bumper protector. This is used to attach the aluminium cover to the intended area of the rear bumper.
No drilling or screws are required.
Important before installation:
Please read the installation instructions under “Technical Details” completely before fitting the protector and follow the specified requirements.

Practical tip: Bulky does not necessarily mean heavy
Heavy items are not the only challenge when loading and unloading a van. A relatively light but long or awkward object can be more difficult to control than a compact box with a higher weight.
What often matters is how many changes of direction and grip are required while removing the item. The more often something needs to be turned, lowered or repositioned, the more attention should be paid to the area directly at the rear of the vehicle.
A bumper protector does not replace careful handling of cargo, but it does provide an additional aluminium cover for the relevant bumper area.
