Automatic step for the rear doors on the Mercedes Sprinter

The electrically swiveling step for the rear door(s) on Mercedes Sprinters built from 2006 (type 906) and 2018 (type 907) is suitable for vehicles with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD).

NOT suitable for the MB Sprinter Type 910 with front-wheel drive (FWD)!

Please note: The step is not suitable for vehicles with a spare wheel holder, in combination with a trailer coupling, or for vehicles with a rear step already installed, including factory-fitted rear steps!

When the rear doors are opened, the step extends fully automatically and independently. When the door is closed again, the step retracts under the vehicle, ready for departure. When extended,

the 1,200 mm wide step is in an optimal position for getting in and out of the vehicle.
When retracted, it is barely visible. The parking sensors remain fully functional.

In addition, the electric step is supplied with LED lighting for better illumination of the surrounding area.

Safety and equipment

The step has automatic obstacle detection. As soon as an object is in the swivel range, the step stops in this position.
An LED strip included in the scope of delivery illuminates the step area in the dark.

The scope of delivery includes the step, the complete cable and mounting kit, and the installation instructions.

Please read the installation instructions before ordering and familiarize yourself with the installation process in advance with your repair shop. The step must be installed in an authorized specialist repair shop!

TÜV registration of retractable steps

Retractable steps do not have to be entered in the vehicle documents in accordance with EC Directive 97/27, as they are not taken into account when measuring the vehicle length.

The installation of a step does not invalidate the operating license in accordance with § 19.2 StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) and therefore does not require approval/registration in accordance with § 21 StVZO.
