The black airline rails with trapezoidal profile and corner profile, with a length of 0.75 m and the corner profile with a length of 0.5 meters, are suitable for external mounting on the rear doors.
Cutting longer rails is no longer necessary. This also prevents moisture from getting under the powder coating at the interfaces and corroding the rail. As it cannot always be ruled out that the airline rails need to be machined (drilling, cutting), the open areas should be sealed with paint.
Rear carriers, bicycle holders, canister holders or the holder for sand trays are often attached to the rear door. Airline rails allow all these holders and objects to be mounted quickly and flexibly.
The black powder-coated lashing rail not only looks good, it also protects against premature corrosion.
Of course, the short powder-coated rails can also be used in other places on and in the vehicle.
Installation of the black airline rails
The airline rails are supplied undrilled. This means they can be glued with Sikaflex 554, for example, or drilled at the desired points yourself.
Airline rails should preferably be fastened with countersunk screws.
Please note: With rivets or other screws, the protruding heads are in the way when inserting the end fittings and can no longer be used at these points.
T-nuts in particular will then no longer work. However, individual end fittings or locking rods can be inserted next to the protruding heads.
With modern adhesives, this is no longer a problem nowadays.
Good pre-treatment (cleaning) and treatment of the surfaces to be bonded with primer are basic requirements.
As adhesives such as Sikaflex 554 create a very strong bond between the materials, they should be used with care.Advantages of the short black airline rails
