Standard semi-circular profile airline rail – the versatile solution for safe transport

Thanks to their shape, standard semi-circular profile airline rails are among the most commonly used profiles when it comes to achieving a clean look without any annoying or sharp edges. This is ideal when goods, crates, or even bulky items need to be loaded and unloaded without damage. In addition, their sturdy design is ideal for professional load securing in vehicles. They are stable, flexible in use, and can be either screwed or glued in place. Whether in a van or truck, a semi-circular airline rail creates a stable base that reliably secures your load while offering many options for fastening with airline fittings, lashing straps, or locking beams.

Advantages of the standard semi-circular airline rail

The standard version impresses with its versatility and well-thought-out design:

  • Rounded profile – protects cargo and facilitates loading and unloading
  • Clean appearance with end caps – conceals sharp edges
  • High load capacity – up to 2,000 daN with Quattro stud fitting
  • Easy installation – can be screwed or glued
  • Flexible use – suitable for vans, trucks, campers, and motorhomes

Particularly practical: the side beads absorb excess adhesive, ensuring a clean finish and a particularly strong bond.

Load capacity and secure connection

The Standard airline rail is designed for high loads. In combination with a Quattro stud fitting, it achieves a load capacity of up to 2,000 daN. With the standard double stud fitting, up to 1,000 daN is still possible.

Single-stud fittings or KERL 500 fittings are suitable for lighter loads. Bulky or heavy goods can be secured additionally with locking bars (KIM 44, Airline Beam) or lashing straps in various lengths. Fixed installations such as vehicle equipment can also be reliably secured using screw fittings or slotted nuts.

Variants of the semicircular airline rail

We offer standard semi-circular airline rails (50 mm wide) in three versions:

  • Without mounting holes – ideal if you want to drill or glue the rail yourself.
  • With mounting holes – M6 countersunk holes in a 100 mm grid for quick installation.
  • Heavy-duty version – particularly robust, approved for wheelchair securing and ideally suited for high loads.

All versions can be individually customized, cut, and tailored to your needs.

Installation: Screws or adhesive?

You have two options for installation:

  • Screwing: The standard airline rail is fastened with M6 countersunk screws. It is important to have a stable surface and screws with a strength rating of 10.9.
  • Gluing: Gluing is the better choice, especially for sandwich panels in motorhomes or truck box bodies. We recommend Sikaflex 554 construction adhesive in combination with the appropriate primer.

Tip: Clean the bonding surfaces thoroughly, keep them free of grease, and mask off adjacent areas to remove excess adhesive cleanly.

Typical areas of application

The standard airline rail with a semi-circular profile is used in many areas:

  • Vans and trucks – for secure fastening of pallets, tools, or furniture
  • Motorhomes & campers – for bicycles, tents, or flexible storage and holding systems
  • Trailers – for bulky goods and leisure equipment
  • Commercial transport – for professionals who value safety and efficiency

Frequently asked questions about the standard semi-circular airline rail

The standard airline rail with a semi-circular profile is a proven solution for professional load securing in vans, trucks, campers, and motorhomes. Here we answer important questions about load capacity, installation, variants, and typical areas of application.

What is the difference between the standard and light versions of the airline rail?

The standard airline rail is wider and designed for higher loads. It is particularly suitable for commercial applications and heavy transport goods.

The light version is more compact and lighter and is often used in camper and motorhome conversions when weight is a greater factor and the load is moderate.

What is the maximum load capacity of the standard airline rail?

In combination with a Quattro stud fitting, the standard rail achieves a load capacity of up to 2,000 daN.

A double stud fitting can carry up to 1,000 daN, which is sufficient for many everyday applications. For lighter applications, single stud fittings or KERL 500 can be used.

What variants of the standard semi-circular profile airline rail are available?

The standard rail is available in various designs:

  • Undrilled rails for free design of the fastening points
  • Rails with M6 countersunk holes in a 100 mm grid for quick installation
  • Heavy-duty version for particularly high loads

Special cuts and powder-coated versions (e.g., in black) are also available on request.

How can the standard airline rail be mounted?

Depending on the substrate, installation is carried out by:

  • Screw connection with M6 countersunk screws on a stable substrate
  • Bonding with a construction adhesive such as Sikaflex 554, especially on sandwich panels or GRP surfaces

Bonding provides a particularly clean appearance and a permanently stable connection without additional drilling.

What are the standard airline rails suitable for?

The standard airline rail is suitable for:

  • Vans & trucks: pallets, mesh boxes, machines
  • Campers & motorhomes: furniture, boxes, bicycles, camping accessories
  • Commercial fleet vehicles: tools, shelving systems, service equipment

It is a robust and flexible solution for both private and commercial use.

Where are the standard airline rails manufactured?

Our airline rails are manufactured in Germany and the European Union. This stands for high quality standards, short delivery routes, and production that is as sustainable as possible.
